2,3,5,6-Tetramethylpyrazine is a flavor ingredient of tobacco. It forms cocrystal with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid which exhibits supramolecular synthon polymorphism.

AplicacionesLa 2,3,5,6-tetrametilpirazina es un compuesto antiinflamatorio aislado del alimento fermentado natto. Demostró actividad nootrópica in vivo en ratas. Es útil en el tratamiento de varios trastornos como el asma, la insuficiencia cardíaca, la rinitis y la incontinencia urinaria. Es un ingrediente para dar sabor al tabaco. Forma cocristales con ácido 4-hidroxibenzoico que exhibe polimorfismo del sintón supramolecular.

Soluble en agua (4 g/l a 20°C).
