TAB3, a member of RNA polymerase beta chain family is a 712 aa, intracellular protein that acts as adaptors linking TAK1 binding proteins. This protein is known to function redundantly as mediator of TAK1 activation in response to various stimuli and is critical for both IL-1 and TNF-induced activation of the NF-kB signal transduction pathway. When overexpressed, TAB3 activates both NF-kB and AP-1 transcription factors.
