Tetrabromophenol Blue is used as acid-base indicator. It is used in oxidative- as well as in non-oxidative hair dye formulations. It is used as an industrial dye, a laboratory indicator, and a biological stain.

Aplicaciones
El azul de tetrabromofenol se utiliza como indicador ácido-base. Se utiliza tanto en formulaciones de tinte de cabello oxidativo como no oxidativo. Se utiliza como colorante industrial, indicador de laboratorio y tinción biológica.

Soluble en agua.
