Description

Isoprene is used in to prepare synthetic version of natural rubber by polymerization using Ziegler catalysts. It is a basic building block for terpenes especially carotenes, terpenoids, retinol, vitamin-A and tocopherol (Vitamin-E). It finds applications in medical equipments, toys, baby bottle nipples, shoe soles, elastic films and threads for golf balls. Copolymer prepares in association with styrene is used in pressure sensitive adhesives.

Aplicaciones
El isopreno se utiliza en la preparación de la versión sintética de caucho natural mediante polimerización utilizando catalizadores de Ziegler. Es un compuesto básico para los terpenos, especialmente los carotenos, los terpenoides, el retinol, la vitamina A y el tocoferol (vitamina E). Se aplica en equipos médicos, juguetes, tetinas para biberones, suelas de zapatos, películas elásticas e hilos para pelotas de golf. Solubilidad
Miscible con etanol, éter etílico, alcohol, acetona y benceno. No miscible con agua.
