Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (92%), Rat (92%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63329 (PA5-63329. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

FA2H is a protein that catalyzes the synthesis of 2-hydroxysphingolipids, a subset of sphingolipids that contain 2-hydroxy fatty acids. Sphingolipids play roles in many cellular processes and their structural diversity arises from modification of the hydrophobic ceramide moiety, such as by 2-hydroxylation of the N-acyl chain, and the existence of many different head groups.
