Descripción
Internal standard in GC assays for presence of thymol in biological samplesEugenol is used in cosmetics, essential oil, perfumeries and flavorings. It finds application as a local antiseptic and anesthetic. It is combined with zinc oxide to form zinc oxide eugenol, which is used in dental restoration especially for root canal sealing and prosthodontics. It is also an antifungal antimicrobial agonist of the TRPV1 receptor. It is also used in production of stabilizers and antioxidants for plastics and rubbers. Further, it is used in the production of vanillin. It serves as an active ingredient in cloves. In addition to this, it is used as an insect attractant, chemical intermediate and denaturant for alcohol.

AplicacionesPatrón interno en ensayos de GC para presencia de timol en muestras biologías. El eugenol se utiliza en cosméticos, aceites esenciales, perfumerías y aromas. Encuentra aplicación como anestésico y antiséptico local. Se combina con óxido de cinc para formar eugenol de óxido de cinc, que se utiliza en la restauración dental especialmente para el sellado del canal radicular y la prostodoncia. También es un agonista antimicrobiano y antifúngico del receptor 1TRPV. También se utiliza en la producción de estabilizadores y antioxidantes para plásticos y cauchos. Asimismo, se utiliza en la producción de vainillina. Sirve como ingrediente activo en el clavo. Además de esto, se utiliza como atrayente de insectos, producto intermediario químico y desnaturalizante para el alcohol.
Solubilidad
Miscible con etanol, éter, aceites, alcohol, ácido acético glacial, cloroformo e hidróxido sódico acuoso. No miscible con agua.

Sensible al aire. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
