Sandwich ELISA: To detect Hu VAP-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 uL/well), a conc. of 0.5-2.0 ug/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Rabbit Anti-Hu VAP-1 (500-P326BT) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 2000-4000 pg/mL of rec. Hu VAP-1. WB: To detect Hu VAP-1 by WB analysis this antibody can be used at a conc. of 0.1-0.2 ug/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for rec. Hu VAP-1 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Copper amine oxidases catalyze the oxidative conversion of amines to aldehydes in the presence of copper and quinone cofactor. The product is a major protein on the adipocyte plasma membrane. It has adhesive properties and also has functional monoamine oxidase activity. A pseudogene for this gene has been discribed and is located approximately 9-kb downstream.
