trans-Diamminedichloroplatinum(II) acts as a reversible RNA-protein cross-linking agent. It is also used in plating baths. It reacts with DNA after hydrolysis to get both intra and interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA.
