Descripción

Succinic anhydride is used as a sizing agent and curative for epoxy resin. It acts as an additive in paper production. It is utilized in the preparation of covalently cross-linked oxidized-alginate and N-succinyl-chitosan hydrogels. It serves as an intermediate for functionalized oxide surfaces on a chip and for polyester resins. Further, it finds use in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and in coatings.

Aplicaciones
El anhídrido succínico se utiliza como agente de dimensionamiento y curativo para la resina epoxídica. Actúa como aditivo en la producción de papel. Se utiliza en la preparación de hidrogeles de alginato oxidado y N-succinil-quitosano entrecruzados covalentemente. Sirve como producto intermedio para superficies de óxido funcionalizadas en un chip y para resinas de poliéster. Además, se utiliza en cosméticos, productos farmacéuticos y en revestimientos.

Solubilidad
Soluble en cloroformo. Soluble en cloroformo, tetracloruro de carbono y alcohol. Ligeramente soluble en éter. Insoluble en agua.

Notas
Sensible a la humedad. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, alcoholes y aminas.
