It is also useful to produce artificial ruby, sapphire and yttrium aluminum garnet. It is useful in the field of fiber fabric products and high pressure sodium lamps as far-infrared emission and thermal insulation materials. It plays an important role for the hydrogenation of aromatic hydrocarbons.
