Aplicaciones
Detergente, equivalente a Nonidet P-40.Triton|r X-100 se utiliza como detergente no iónico, emulsionante y agente dispersante. Es útil para el aislamiento de proteínas de membrana. También se utiliza en electroforesis. Es un ingrediente activo en la vacuna contra la gripe (Fluzone). Se aplica en la dispersión de materiales de carbono para materiales compuestos blandos y restringe la expansión de colonias en aspergillus nidulans en microbiología. Además, es un ingrediente activo en los líquidos caseros de limpieza de discos de vinilo junto con agua destilada y alcohol isopropílico.
