2-Methyl-1-pentene is prepared from 2-Methyl-1-pentene. 2-methyl-1-pentene is used in copolymerization of ethylene catalyzed by nonbridged half-titanocenes. The isomerization of 2-methyl-1-pentene leads to anionic activation of c-h bonds in olefins.

Aplicaciones
El 2-metil-1-penteno se prepara a partir de 2-metil-1-penteno. El 2-metil-1-penteno se utiliza en la copolimerización del etileno catalizado por mitad de titanocenos no puenteados. La isomerización de 2-metil-1-penteno conduce a la activación aniónica de los enlaces c-h en olefinas.
