Vinyltrimethylsilane is used in semiconductor processing. It is involved in the Preparation of silyl-ethers by Rh(I) catalysis. Further, it is used in the preparation of trimethylsilylethyl sulfoxides which in the presence of fluoride ion generate sulfenate nucleophiles.

Aplicaciones
El viniltrimetilsilano se utiliza en el procesamiento de semiconductores. Participa en la preparación de éteres silílicos por catálisis Rh(I). Además, se utiliza en la preparación de trimetilsililetil sulfóxidos que en presencia de ión de fluoruro generan nucleófilos de sulfenato.

Solubilidad
Miscible con tetrahidrofurano, éter dietílico, benceno y diclorometano.

Notas
Almacenar en un lugar fresco. Higroscópico. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, ácidos fuertes y álcalis (bases) fuertes.
