Triphenylcarbenium hexafluorophosphate is a reagent involved in Si-H and Si-Si bond activation at Pt of neutral and cationic silyl Pt bisphosphine complexes. It is used in investigations of interactions with chromium acetylacetonate nitride mononuclear complexes. It is used in double ring-opening polyaddition of spiro orthoesters. It is used as reagent in Synthesis of push-pull tropylium-fused aminoporphyrazine, Preparation of cycloheptatrienyl and tropylium calix[4]arenes, Synthesis of palladacycles containing chiral rhenium half-sandwich complex for use as a catalyst.

Aplicaciones
El hexafluorofosfato de trifenilcarbenio es un reactivo implicado en la activación de enlaces Si-H y Si-Si en Pt de complejos de bisfosfina de Pt silil catiónico y neutro. Se utiliza en investigaciones de las interacciones con complejos mononucleares de nitruro acetilacetonato de cromio. Se usa en la poliadición de doble apertura de anillo de espiroortoésteres. Se utiliza como reactivo en la síntesis de la aminoporfirazina fusionada con tropirio de ″insercción/extracción″, la preparación de calix[4]arenos de cicloheptatrienil y tropilio, la síntesis de paladaciclos que contienen compuesto medio sándwich de renio quiral para su uso como catalizador.
