Aplicaciones
El pirofosfato de sodio, solución tampón de 200 mM, se utiliza en el laboratorio como agente tamponador. DSPP se ha utilizado como agente quelante en estudios antimicrobianos. El pirofosfato tetramásico o TSPP (sc-203404; sc-236921) ha demostrado ser útil en la preparación de un tampón de extracción de pirofosfato de sodio EDTA para el análisis de microcistina de muestras de suelo. Es un agente de levadura popular que se encuentra en los polvos de hornear.
