(S)-(-)-2-Pyrrolidinone-5-carboxylic acid is used as a building block for pharmaceuticals and asymmetric synthesis. It Is also used as a resolving agent for chiral bases and in an efficient synthesis of quinolizidine and indolizidine alkaloids.

El ácido (S)-(-)-2-pirrolidinona-5-carboxílico se utiliza como componente básico en productos farmacéuticos y síntesis asimétrica. También se utiliza como agente de resolución para bases quirales y en una síntesis eficiente de alcaloides de quinolizidina e indolizidina.
Solubilidad
Soluble en agua (de 10 a 15 % a 20 °C), alcohol, acetona, sulfóxido de dimetilo y metanol.
Notas
Mantener en un recipiente bien sellado. Almacenar en un lugar fresco y seco y en recipientes bien sellados. Incompatible con los agentes oxidantes.
