Quinuclidine acts as a catalyst, a chemical building block and is used in organic synthesis. It is employed to prepare quinine and alkaloids. It finds application as a ligand, which is useful in the studies of OsO4-catalyzed dihydroxylation of olefins. It plays an important role in the formation of onium salts used testing of PAC-antagonist activity.

Aplicaciones
La quinuclidina actúa como catalizador y como compuesto básico químico, y se utiliza en la síntesis orgánica. Se emplea para preparar quinina y alcaloides. Se utiliza como ligando, que es útil en los estudios de la dihidroxilación de olefinas catalizada por OsO4. Desempeña un papel importante en la formación de sales de onio utilizadas para probar la actividad de los antagonistas PAC.
