Colorante marcador para ARN útil en sistemas de tampón ácido

Pyronin Y is a cationic dye that intercalates RNA and is visible as a red band during electrophoresis. It has also been shown to accumulate in mitochondria of viable cells. In conjuction with Methyl Green or Nancy-520, Pyronin Y can be used as a fluorescent differential stain of nucleic acids in paraffin tissue sections.

Aplicaciones
La pironina y es un colorante catiónico que intercala el ARN y es visible e forma de banda roja durante la electroforesis. También se ha demostrado que se acumula en las mitocondrias de células viables. Junto con el verde de metilo o Nancy-520, la pironina Y puede utilizarse como tinción diferencial fluorescente de ácidos nucleicos en cortes de tejido en parafina.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua. También es soluble en celosolve de metilo (9 mg/ml) y etanol (3 mg/ml).

Notas
Estable en las condiciones de almacenamiento recomendadas. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes.
