Descripción
Phosphonoacetic acid inhibits deoxyribo nucleic acid polymerase, especially in viruses. It is used as an antiviral agent. Further, it is used in the preparation of 1-(dimethylamino)-2,2-bis[(dimethylimmonio)-methyl]ethene diperchlorate by reacting with phosphorus oxychloride.

El ácido fosfonoacético inhibe la polimerasa del ácido desoxirribonucleico, especialmente en los virus. Se utiliza como un agente antiviral. Además, se utiliza en la preparación de diperclorato de 1-(dimetilamino)-2,2-bis[(dimetilimonio)-metil]eteno al reaccionar con el oxicloruro de fósforo.
