p-Toluenesulfonylmethyl isocyanide is a synthetic reagent used in the synthesis of triplet drugs with the 1,3,5-trioxazatriquinane skeleton, pyrroles, oxazoles and in imidazoles. It serves as an isonitrile component in a diastereoselective Passerini reaction. Furthermore, it is used in the Van Leusen reaction to convert aldehydes to nitriles.

Aplicaciones
El isocianuro de p-toluenosulfonilmetilo es un reactivo sintético utilizado en la síntesis de fármacos tripletados con esqueleto de 1,3,5-trioxazatriquinano, pirroles, oxazoles y en imidazoles. Sirve como componente de isonitrilo en una reacción de Passerini diastereoselectiva. Además, se utiliza en la reacción de Van Leusen para convertir aldehídos en nitrilos.
