Nicotinamide is a building block (active component) of coenzymes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phopshate (NADP). It may be used as a substrate of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT, EC 2.4.2.12), the rate-limiting enzyme for NAD(+) biosynthesis and an important signaling molecule. It is an amide derivative of vitamin B3 and a PARP inhibitor.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.

Aplicaciones

Solubilidad
soluble en agua, etanol, glicerol, DMSO, metanol, butanol y cloroformo. Ligeramente soluble en éter.

Notas
estable en las condiciones de almacenamiento recomendadas. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes.
