Aplicaciones
El 4-hidroxibenzoato de n-propilo se utiliza como conservante antimicrobiano en productos farmacéuticos, alimentos, cosméticos y champús. Se utiliza ampliamente como conservante en productos de cuidado personal como cremas, lociones y productos de baño. Además, se utiliza como aditivo alimentario. Su derivado, el p-hidroxibenzoato de propilo sódico se utiliza como agente de conservación antihongos.

Solubilidad
Soluble en propilenglicol, etanol, éter, acetona, metanol y dimetilsulfóxido. Ligeramente soluble en glicerina. Insoluble en agua.

Notas
Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, bases fuertes y metales alcalinos.
