Used for colorimetric determination of sulfonamide in bloodN-(1-Naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride acts as a coupling agent for the spectrophotometric determination of aromatic amines, aminophenols, phenylenediamines, dinitroanilines, chloroanilines, thiols and sulfonamides. It is also used in the quantitative analysis of nitrate and nitrite in water samples by colorimetry. It is involved in the preparation of (N-1-naphthyl-ethylenediamine)-dichloroplatinum(II) by reacting with potassium tetrachloroplatinate.

Aplicaciones
Se emplea para la determinación colorimétrica de sulfonamida en sangre. El diclohidrato de N-(1Naftil)etilenodiamina actúa como agente de acoplamiento para la determinación espectrofotométrica de aminas aromáticas, aminofenoles, fenilendiaminas, dinitroanilinas, cloroanilinas, tioles y sulfonamidas. También se utiliza en el análisis cuantitativo de nitrato y nitrito en muestras de agua por colorimetría. Participa en la preparación de (N-1-naftil-etilenodiamina)-dicloroplatino(II) en la reacción con tetracloroplatinato de potasio.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua o etanol de 95 %. Soluble en agua caliente, alcohol, ácido clorhídrico diluido y acetona.

Notas
Higroscópico. Sensible a la luz. No es compatible con ácidos, cloruros ácidos, anhídridos ácidos, ácidos halógenos y agentes oxidantes.
