Description

 

Methyl p-toluenesulfonate is used as a methylating agent in organic synthesis. It acts as a catalyst for alkyd resins. It is also employed in selective 1-substitution reaction of tetrazole. Further, it is used in the preparation of dyes.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Aplicaciones
El p-toluensulfonato de metilo se utiliza como agente metilante en la síntesis orgánica. Actúa como catalizador para las resinas alquídicas. También se emplea en la reacción de sustitución 1 selectiva del tetrazol. Además, se utiliza en la preparación de tintes.

Solubilidad
Soluble en éter, alcohol, benceno y cloroformo. Ligeramente soluble en éter de petróleo. Insoluble en agua.
