m-Cresol Purple acts as a pH indicator dye. It plays an important role in spectrophotometric pH measurements. It operates in the pH ranges 1.2 - 2.8 (red to yellow) and 7.4 - 9.0 (yellow to violet). Further, it is employed to stain epithelial cells and proteins.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Aplicación
El morado sm-Cresol actúa como colorante indicador de pH. Desempeña un papel importante en las mediciones de pH espectrofotométricas. Funciona en los intervalos de pH 1,2 a 2,8 (rojo a amarillo) y de 7,4 a 9,0 (amarillo a violeta). Además, se utiliza para la tinción de células epiteliales y proteínas.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua y solución de hidróxido de sodio. Ligeramente soluble en alcohol.

Intervalo de transición (ácido): de pH 1.2 (rojo) a pH 2.8 (amarillo); (alcalino) de pH 7,4 (amarillo) a pH 9,0 (morado). Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
