These kits provide a two-color fluorescence assay of bacterial viability for a diverse array of bacterial genera. Cells with a compromised membrane that are dead or dying will stain red with propidium iodide, whereas cells with an intact membrane will stain green with SYTO™ 9. These kits enable researchers to differentiate between live and dead bacteria within minutes, even in mixed populations with diverse bacterial types through fluorescent imaging, flow cytometry, and microplate assays.
