L-Phenylalanine is an aromatic organic compound containing amine and acid as functional groups. It is an essential amino acid and its structure can be considered as the derivative of 3-phenylpropionic acid, in which one hydrogen atom present at C-2 position is substituted with amino group. It is a chiral compound and consists of two optical isomers. It is also known as 2-amino-3-phenylpropanoic acid, beta-phenylalanine, L-alfa-amino-beta-phenylpropionic acid, H-Phe-OH and (S)-2-amino-3-phenylpropionic acid.

Aplicaciones
La L-fenilalanina es un compuesto orgánico aromático que contiene amina y ácido como grupos funcionales. Es un aminoácido esencial y su estructura puede considerarse como el derivado del ácido 3-fenilpropiónico, en el que un átomo de hidrógeno presente en la posición C-2 es sustituido por un grupo amino. Es un compuesto quiral y consta de dos isómeros ópticos. También se conoce como ácido 2-amino-3-fenilpropanoico, beta-fenilalanina, ácido L-alfa-amino-beta-fenilpropiónico, H-Phe-OH y ácido (S)-2-amin-3-fenilpropiónico.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua. Ligeramente soluble en metanol y etanol. Insoluble en éter etílico y benceno.
