Itaconic anhydride is used in immobilization of β-glucosidase. It undergoes estrification to obtain suitable monomers for emulsion polymerization itaconates.

Aplicaciones
El anhídrido itacónico se utiliza en la inmovilización de la β-glucosidasa. Se somete a la estratificación para obtener monómeros adecuados para los itaconatos de polimerización por emulsión.
