Isophorone diisocyanate is useful for the preparation of polyurethane plastics. It is also used to make polyurethane coatings and in enamel coatings, which are resistant to abrasion and degradation from ultraviolet light. Further, it is used as coatings for automotive, flooring and roofing as well as paint applied to aircraft.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Aplicaciones
El diisocianato de isoforona es útil para la preparación de plásticos de poliuretano. También se usa para hacer revestimientos de poliuretano o esmalte, ambos resistentes a la abrasión y a la degradación causada por la luz ultravioleta. Además, se utiliza como revestimiento para automóviles, suelos y techos, así como la pintura que se usa en aeronaves.

Solubilidad
Miscible con ésteres, cetonas, éteres e hidrocarburos aromáticos y alifáticos.

Notas
Sensible a la humedad. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, ácidos fuertes y alcoholes.
