Beschreibung

Hexachloroethane is used as catalyst in preparation of chlorosilanes from hydrosilanes. It is also used to investigate the transformation of hexachloroethane in natural waters and as reagent during polycondensation reaction of p-aminobenzoic acid. It is used as a source of chlorine in the chlorodehydroxylation of alcohols in the presence of triphenylphosphine.

Aplicaciones
El hexacloroetano se utiliza como catalizador en la preparación de clorosilanos a partir de hidrosilanos. También se usa para investigar la transformación del hexacloroetano en aguas naturales y como reactivo durante la reacción de policondensación del ácido p-aminobenzoico. Se utiliza como fuente de cloro en la clorodehidroxilación de alcoholes en presencia de trifenilfosfina.

Insoluble en agua.
