Beschreibung
Glutaric acid is used as the raw material for organic synthesis, pharmaceutical intermediate and synthetic resin. It serves as a precursor in the production of polyester polyols, polyamides, ester plasticizers and corrosion inhibitors. It is useful to decrease polymer elasticity and in the synthesis surfactants and metal finishing compounds. It acts as an intermediate during the catabolism of lysine in mammals.

El ácido glutárico se utiliza como materia prima para la síntesis orgánica, sustancia intermedia en la industria farmacéutica y resina sintética. Sirve como precursor en la producción de polioles de poliéster, poliamidas, plastificadores de éster e inhibidores de corrosión. Es útil para disminuir la elasticidad del polímero y en la síntesis de surfactantes y compuestos de acabado de metal. Actúa como sustancia intermedia durante el catabolismo de lisina en mamíferos.
Solubilidad
Soluble en agua, alcohol, benceno y cloroformo. Ligeramente soluble en éter de petróleo.
