Aplicaciones
Inhibe la angiogénesis y reducen las metástasis pulmonares mediante la inhibición de las metaloproteinasas de la matriz. El clorhidrato de doxiciclina es un antibiótico utilizado para inhibir las metaloproteinasas de la matriz como la colagenasa de tipo 1 en estudios sobre curación de heridas y remodelación tisular. Muestra actividad antibacteriana y antiprotozoaria de amplio espectro. A menudo se utiliza para tratar la enfermedad de Lyme, prostatitis crónica, sinusitis, enfermedad inflamatoria pélvica, acné, rosácea e infecciones por rickettsias y como profilaxis del ántrax.
