Diethylsilane is used as a precursor to prepare (3-allylsulfanyl-propyl)-diethyl-silane by using (Ph3P)3RhCl as reagent. It is also used in the chemical vapor deposition of SiO2 for microelectronics.

Aplicaciones
El dietilsilano se utiliza como precursor para preparar (3-alilsulfanil-propil)-dietil-silano mediante el uso de (Ph3P)3RhCl como reactivo. También se utiliza en la deposición de vapores químicos de SiO2 para microelectrónica.

Solubilidad
Miscible con tetrahidrofurano, éter dietílico, 1,4-dioxano y benceno.

Notas
Sensible a la humedad. Almacenar en un lugar fresco. Mantener el recipiente bien cerrado en un lugar seco y bien ventilado. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes, bases, oxígeno y agua.
