Beschreibung
Decanoic acid is used in perfumes, resins, lubricants, greases, dyes, plastics, pharmaceuticals and food additives. It is involved in the preparation of wetting agents and sodium deconate, which is an active component in soap. It is also used as a plasticizer and as an absorption enhancer in guinea pig skin experiments. Further, it is employed in the generation of esters for artificial fruit flavors. In addition to this, it is used in agricultural chemicals, lubricant additives and surface active agents.

El ácido decanoico se utiliza en perfumes, resinas, lubricantes, grasas, colorantes, plásticos, productos farmacéuticos y aditivos alimentarios. Participa en la preparación de agentes humectantes y deconato de sodio, que es un componente activo del jabón. También se utiliza como plastificante y como potenciador de absorción en experimentos dermatológicos con conejillos de indias. Solubilidad
Soluble en acetona, benceno, cloroformo, disulfuro de carbono, éter etílico, etanol, ácido nítrico diluido y la mayoría de disolventes orgánicos. Insoluble en agua.
