Calcium fluoride is used to manufacture optical components such as windows and lenses, used in thermal imaging systems, spectroscopy, and excimer lasers. In combination with KF, it is a useful fluorinating agent for conversion of other alkyl halides to fluorides. It may be used in the fabrication of microfluidic capillary electrophoresis (CE) devices.

Aplicaciones
El fluoruro de calcio se utiliza para fabricar componentes ópticos como ventanas y lentes, así como en sistemas térmicos de adquisición de imágenes, espectroscopía y láser excimer. En combinación con el KF, es un agente fluorante útil para la conversión de otros haluros de alquilo en fluoruros. Se puede utilizar en la fabricación de dispositivos de electroforesis capilar microfluídica (CE).

Solubilidad
Soluble en sales de amonio. Soluble en agua (ligeramente).

Notas
Almacenar a temperatura ambiente. Separar de ácidos minerales. Proteger de la humedad y el agua. Incompatible con la humedad y los agentes oxidantes.
