Butyraldehyde is used as an intermediate in the production of synthetic resins, rubber accelerators, tanning auxiliaries, perfumes, flavors, plasticizers and high molecular weight polymers. It acts as a chemical intermediate to prepare other chemicals such as 2-ethylhexanol, n-butanol, polyvinyl butyral (PVB), n-butyric acid and pharmaceuticals.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Aplicaciones
El butiraldehído se utiliza como intermedio en la producción de resinas sintéticas, aceleradores de caucho, aceleradores del bronceado, perfumes, sabores, plastificantes y polímeros de alto peso molecular. Actúa como intermedio químico en la preparación de otros productos químicos como 2-etilhexanol, n-butanol, butiral de polivinilo (PVB), ácido n-butírico y productos farmacéuticos.

Solubilidad
Miscible con agua, etanol, éter, acetato de etilo, acetona y tolueno.

Notas
Sensible al aire. Almacénese en lugar fresco. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes, agentes reductores, bases fuertes y ácidos.
