Bromobenzene is used as solvent in organic synthesis. It is used to prepare the phenylmagnesium bromide, a Grignard reagent, an intermediate in the preparation of benzoic acid by reacting with carbon dioxide. It is a precursor for making phencyclidine. It is useful for the introduction of phenyl group through palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions viz. the Suzuki reaction.

El bromobenceno se utiliza como disolvente en síntesis orgánica y para preparar bromuro de fenilmagnesio, un reactivo de Grignard y producto intermedio en la preparación del ácido benzoico cuando se somete a reacción con dióxido de carbono. También funciona como precursor para producir fenciclidina y es útil para la introducción del grupo fenilo a través de reacciones de acoplamiento catalizadas por paladio, en concreto, a través de la reacción de Suzuki.
Solubilidad
Miscible con éter dietílico, alcohol, tetracloruro de carbono, cloroformo y benceno.
Notas
