Aplicaciones
El ácido bórico es un reactivo de uso común en la biología molecular para la preparación de tampones como el borato trisódico EDTA y tiene aplicaciones en la electroforesis capilar y en gel. Este compuesto también se ha utilizado en multitud de aplicaciones, desde telas impermeables hasta acero endurecido. Es un reactivo de biología molecular de uso común que muestra cierta actividad antimicótica.

Solubilidad
Soluble en glicerol, éter, alcohol, metanol, amoníaco líquido, acetona (ligeramente), agua (6,35 g/100 cc) a 30 °C, agua (27,6 g/100 cc) a 100 °C, agua (50 g/l) a 21 °C y agua (1 g/18 ml de agua fría).

Notas
Almacenar en un lugar fresco. Mantenga el recipiente bien cerrado en un lugar seco y bien ventilado. Almacenar alejado de agentes oxidantes fuertes.
