Blue Tetrazolium chloride is useful in the prepartion of DNA cation complexes and immunoadsorbents for anti-DNA antibodies. It is used in assay of reducing sugars. In combination with 4-nitrocatechol, tetrazolium blue chloride forms a ternary complex with molybdenum(VI) for extraction and spectrophotometric determination of molybdenum.

Aplicaciones
El cloruro de tetrazolio azul resulta de utilidad en la preparación de complejos de cationes de ADN e inmunoadsorbentes para anticuerpos anti-ADN. Se utiliza en el ensayo de azúcares reductores. En combinación con el 4-nitrocatecol, el cloruro de tetrazolio azul forma un complejo ternario con molibdeno(VI) para la extracción y determinación espectrofotométrica de molibdeno.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua caliente (5 mg/ml), metanol (50 mg/ml), etanol y cloroformo. Insoluble en acetona.

Notas
Estable en las condiciones de almacenamiento recomendadas. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes.
