Bis(4-aminophenyl) ether is a monomer used as a cross-linking agent. It is also used in the preparation of poly(imideurea)s, polyimide silica composite membrane, which finds application in gas separation techniques. It is utilized in products such as wire enamels, coatings, adhesives, insulating varnishes, coated fabrics, flame-retardant fibers, oil sealants and retainers. Further, it is used in the preparation of polymer films for electrolyte membranes. In addition to this, it is used as an insulation for cables and printed circuits, and laminates and composite for aerospace vehicles.

Aplicaciones
El éter de bis(4-aminofenil) es un monómero que se utiliza como agente de entrecruzamiento. También se utiliza en la preparación de la membrana compuesta de poli(imideurea)s, poliimida de sílice, que se utiliza en las técnicas de separación de gases. Se utiliza en productos como esmaltes de alambre, revestimientos, adhesivos, barnices aislantes, telas con recubrimiento, fibras pirorretardantes, selladores de aceite y retenedores. Además, se utiliza en la preparación de películas poliméricas para membranas electrolíticas. Asimismo, se utiliza como aislamiento de cables y circuitos impresos, y como laminado y compuesto para vehículos aeroespaciales.

Solubilidad
soluble en acetona. Insoluble en agua, benceno, tetracloruro de carbono, etanol y metanol caliente.

Notas
higroscópico. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
