Benzoin is used as a flavor, antiseptic and photopolymerization catalyst. It is also used as a raw material in organic syntheses. It serves as a precursor to benzil, which is a photoinitiator. Further, it is used as degassing agent for powder coatings. In addition to this, it is used as an additive and in powder coating to remove the pinhole phenomenon.

Aplicaciones
La benzoína se utiliza como saborizante, antiséptico y catalizador de fotopolimerización. También se utiliza como materia prima en las síntesis orgánicas. Sirve como precursor del bencilo, que es un fotoiniciador. Además, se utiliza como agente de desgasificación para los revestimientos de polvo. Además de esto, se utiliza como aditivo y en el revestimiento de polvo para eliminar el fenómeno de los orificios.
