Descripción

Alcian Blue 8GX is widely utilized as a heteroglycan stain for acidic, neutral, sulfated and phosphate polysaccharides and glycosaminoglycans in tissues. It finds application in both light and electron microscopy. It serves as an adhesive to stick glycol methacrylate sections to glass slides. Due to its large aromatic surface, it is used as a coating agent and modifies the property on the surfaces. It acts as a gelling agent for lubricating fluids and is also used in the modification of carbon paste electrode which promotes redox behavior and stability of electrode.

Aplicaciones
El azul alciano 8GX se utiliza ampliamente como tinción heteroglicana para polisacáridos ácidos, neutros, sulfatados y fosfatados y glicosaminoglicanos en tejidos. Se aplica tanto en microscopía óptica como electrónica. Sirve como adhesivo para pegar secciones de metacrilato de glicol a portaobjetos de vidrio. Debido a su gran superficie aromática, se utiliza como agente de recubrimiento y modifica la propiedad sobre las superficies. Actúa como un agente gelificante para los fluidos lubricantes y también se utiliza en la modificación del electrodo de pasta de carbono que promueve el comportamiento redox y la estabilidad del electrodo.

Solubilidad
Soluble en agua, etanol, etilenglicol y 2-etoxietanol. Insoluble en xileno.

Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes.
