Sal disódica de adenosina-5'-difosfato, MP Biomedicals es un nucleótido de adenina que se convierte en ATP por ATP sintasas. El ADP afecta a la activación de las plaquetas a través de su interacción con los receptores ADP.

El ADP afecta la activación de las plaquetas a través de su interacción con los receptores de ADP P2Y1, P2Y12 y P2X1. Al convertirse en adenosina por los ecto-ADPases, la activación de las plaquetas se inhibe a través de los receptores de adenosina.
