6-Methyl-2-thiouracil is mainly used in surgical preparation of mild hyperthyroidism, thyroid storm, hyperthyroidism and postoperative treatment. It is used in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. It is used as a drug, which is applied to decrease the formation of stored thyroid hormone and thyroglobulin in the thyroid gland.

Aplicaciones
El 6-metil-2-tiouracilo se utiliza principalmente en la preparación quirúrgica de hipertiroidismo leve, tormenta tiroidea, hipertiroidismo y tratamiento postoperatorio. Se utiliza en el tratamiento del hipertiroidismo. Se utiliza como un fármaco que se suministra para disminuir la formación de hormona tiroidea y tiroglobulina almacenadas en la glándula tiroides.

Solubilidad
Soluble en etanol. Ligeramente soluble en metanol, acetona, éter dietílico, agua, amoníaco e hidróxidos alcalinos. Insoluble en benceno y cloroformo.

Sensible a la luz. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes fuertes. Mantenga el recipiente cerrado herméticamente.
