6-Ethoxy-2-mercaptobenzothiazole is used as a reagent in the preparation of nitrothiazolythio benzothiazoles as carbon-junction N-terminal kinase inhibitors. It is used in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Further, it serves as a matrix-assisted laser desorption mass spectrometry for bio molecules mass determination.

Aplicaciones
El 6-etoxi-2-mercaptobenzotiazol se utiliza como reactivo en la preparación de benzotiazoles de nitrotiazolitio que funcionarán como inhibidores de la cinasa N-terminal de unión al carbono. Se utiliza en la síntesis de principios activos farmacéuticos. Además, sirve para la espectrómetría de masas de desorción por láser asistida por matriz para la determinación de la masa de moléculas biológicas.
