4-Methylumbelliferone is used in the determination of nitric acid and as a standard for fluorometric determination of enzyme activity. It is also used in bile therapy.

Aplicaciones
La 4-metilumbeliferona se utiliza en la determinación del ácido nítrico y como estándar para la determinación fluorométrica de la actividad enzimática. También se utiliza en la terapia biliar.

Solubilidad
Soluble en alcohol. Insoluble en agua fría. Soluble en ácido acético, álcali e hidróxido amónico. Ligeramente soluble en agua caliente, cloroformo y éter dietílico.

Almacenar en un lugar fresco. Incompatible con bases fuertes y agentes oxidantes fuertes.
