4,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone is as a UV light stabilizer. It and its derivatives are found in cosmetics, plastics, films, adhesives and coatings, optical fiber, and printed circuit boards. It is the precursor to certain polycarbonate polymers.

Aplicaciones
El 4,4′-dihidroxibenzofenona se emplea como estabilizador de luz ultravioleta. Se aplica, junto con sus derivados, en cosméticos, plásticos, películas, adhesivos y revestimientos, fibra óptica y placas de circuitos impresos. Es el precursor de ciertos polímeros de policarbonato.
