3-Amino-1,2,4-triazole is an inhibitor of mitochondrial and chloroplast function. Commercial grade 3- amino-1,2,4-triazole (which generally contains catalase anti-inhibitory impurities) is used as a cotton defoliant.

Aplicaciones
El 3-amino-1,2,4-triazol es un inhibidor de la función mitocondrial y de cloroplasto. El 3-amino-1,2,4-triazol de grado comercial (que generalmente contiene impurezas anti-inhibitorias de catalasa) se utiliza como un defoliante de algodón.

Solubilidad
Es soluble en agua, metanol, etanol y cloroformo, y escasamente soluble en acetato de etilo. Es insoluble en éter y acetona.
