3,5-Dinitrosalicylic acid is used in the quantification of reducing sugars by colorimetry. It is utilized for the analysis of glycosidase (glycoside hydrolase) activity by quantitation of enzymatically released reducing sugar. It is also used to detect reducing substances in urine and for quantifying carbohydrate level in blood. It acts as an important raw material and an intermediate in the production of organic chemicals such as agrochemicals, organic synthesis, pharmaceuticals and dyes.

Aplicaciones
el ácido 3,5-dinitrosalicílico se utiliza en la cuantificación de azúcares reductores por colorimetría. Se utiliza para el análisis de la actividad de la glucosidasa (glucósido hidrolasa) mediante la cuantificación del azúcar reductor liberado enzimáticamente. También se utiliza para detectar sustancias reductoras en la orina y para cuantificar el nivel de carbohidratos en la sangre. Actúa como una importante materia prima y un intermedio en la producción de productos químicos orgánicos, como los agroqumíicos, la síntesis orgánica, los productos farmacéuticos y los colorantes.
