2-Phenoxyaniline serves as an antiinflammatory agent that inhibits preferentially COX-2 over COX-1. It is used in the preparation of sodium primary amide complex, 4-methyl-2-(2-phenoxyphenyl)azo-phenol and 2-acetoaminodiphenyl ether. Further, it is used to form complexes with beta-cyclodextrin.

Aplicaciones
La 2-fenoxianilina sirve como agente antiinflamatorio que inhibe, de forma preferente, COX-2 antes que COX-1. Se utiliza en la preparación del complejo de sodio de amida primaria, del 4-metil-2-(2-fenoxifenil)azofenol y del éter de 2-acetoaminodifenilo . Además, se usa para formar complejos con beta-ciclodextrina.
